New York Telephone Building
New York, New York
This 30-story steel-framed building was designed by architect John Carl Warnecke & Associates.
The building has a typical floor height of 18 feet to accommodate telephone switching equipment. Floors were designed for 200- to 300-psf live loads to carry the equipment.
The building is essentially windowless for the security and protection of expensive equipment. The exterior walls are granite-faced precast concrete panels.
