The four theaters at the State University of New York at Purchase were designed by architect Edward Larrabee Barnes and Associates. Each theater was acoustically isolated from one another and from the noise generated by the nearby Westchester Airport. The exterior masonry and brick walls were isolated from the steel structure by use of special mechanical isolators and double masonry walls.
