What is a Professional Engineer?
The practice of the profession of engineering is defined as performing
professional services such as consultation, investigation, evaluation,
planning, or design in connection with processes, works, or projects wherein
the safeguarding of life, health and property is concerned.
This credential requires 12 years of education/experience credit which
is acceptable to the State Board of Engineering. It also requires that
applicants pass a two-part 16 hour examination which covers the Fundamentals
of Engineering and the Principles and Practice of Engineering.
This credential affirms that a person has proven the ability to solve ANY
problem through the application of logic and intelligent thought.
